Tower of Babel: No Mercy Switch NSP Free Download Romslab If only real-life construction was this easy. You’d see skyscrapers flying up taller than the Empire State Building in a shorter amount of time than it would take you to rustle together a jam sandwich. The entire thing could come crashing down like a sack of spuds at a moment’s notice given the haphazard way each part of the building is just lobbed on the top, and nothing being bolted together, but I’m sure that the world’s construction companies could find some use for the Tower of Babel method. A point to note is that this game bears no relation with the previous Tower of Babel game released on the Switch eShop, that came being about tower climbing. ROMSLAB.COM BEST SWITCH GAMES

This game is in fact more akin to Tricky Towers, which had players stacking Tetris-like blocks as high as they could. Tower of Babel – no mercy has players timing the release of sections of a skyscraper from a swinging pendulum so as to land perfectly on the previous build. Landing the sections perfectly central will result in a points bonus, with the tally going up with each passing section and again with each successive checkpoint. There are a small range of different gameplay options, but all feel similar. The ‘Selfish’ mode is about straight-forward tower building – with up to four players, it’s about one tower and one winner. The second mode is the Co-op mode, which of course has multiple players sharing responsibility of building the tower.
A little more to the left, yeah, higher, pivot… NO, NOOOOO!
Factors in the elements – a gust of wind can come along to wobble your tower and affect the drop trajectory of the next section once it’s released. The highlight of this mode, however, is that it tracks the height of your tower and records this in a local leaderboard at the end. The last local play mode is the Battle mode, which has two teams working on two separate towers. When one tower starts to pick up pace and leave the other in its dust, or when one player makes a mistake and topples their tower, the battle is decided. Knocking a tower slightly off-kilter will result in it wobbling for at least the next few pieces, so you’ll always need to be conscious of levelling the thing back off again. But if you lay some down off-centre towards the start. Ghost Sync Switch NSP

As such, you only ever feel like you have to worry about the last three sections, rather than the tower as a whole. With a very simplistic and colorful design, Tower of Babel No Mercy seems to appeal to everyone. Its interface displays beautiful acid colors and large bold texts are enough to shimmer the eye and bring a certain sense of welcome to attract even the most reluctant to play video games. This sense of simplicity is also found in the gameplay. Playable up to 4 simultaneously, the game invites you to build the highest possible towers using blocks suspended by cables that must be released at the right time by pressing the “A” button. The weight of the blocks and their position may jeopardize your structure and see it tilt to the sides in the event of inaccuracy.

The game therefore remains very easy to play and this is a good thing because it is by nature extremely accessible. Just press “A” at the right time to score more or less points depending on the surface of the piece in contact with the tower. If stacked perfectly, you can unlock special moves to use with “L” and “R”, such as cutting the rope at an awkward moment on the opponents' tower or even sending fog obscuring vision for them. Other punctual maluses can be sent to your opponents randomly if you chain the points like weighted blocks which will have a strong impact on the balance of their construction or even modify the order of each player. A part of randomness remains present with the environment which can sometimes send you strong winds to destabilize. Gibbous – A Cthulhu Adventure Switch NSP

The more you will go up and the more your structure will weaken, which creates a certain tension and fear to miss when you start to reach a certain height. Not to mention the potential errors in the foundations which, 30 floors later, could cause you harm and inevitably lead to a collapse. A total of 3 game modes are available all revolving around the same concept of stacking blocks. As soon as you arrive in the main menu, they appear between Coop, Selfish and Battle. In the Co-op mode, you will have to, with the help of your friends, build the highest possible tower by reaching different height levels which will give you bonus points. Without really competitive challenge with the other players, and therefore no bonus or malus to send to the others, it rather acts as a relaxation mode in which you will place blocks in turn
Building! Suffice it to say ‘Hard’ difficulty is named appropriately.
As I had assumed, easy was just a bit too easy, the Medium setting was consistently beatable, but Hard took the game to a whole new level. Throwing everything, including the kitchen sink, at the opponent would do nothing but fuel its programmed fury into toppling my tower, along with my confidence, into a pile of rubble. I now also understand why they named the game Tower of Babel – no mercy! Now that embargo has far passed, and the game has been released, I’ve gone back to test out online functionality. And, unfortunately, as you’d hope against, but ultimately expect from smaller indie titles with online capabilities, there’s not a huge community of people to challenge out there. In fact, my most recent tests to see if I could find an opponent yielded a search screen for ten minutes before I finally decided to give up. It’s truly a shame that, in a time and age when so many people call for online functionality, a game provides, and it’s taken for granted. Such is life, I suppose. When playing Battle Mode solo, the player can choose to include AI at a set difficulty in the match. This is a great thing to see! Originally playing prior to the release of the game, and prior to the embargo, there was not much of an opportunity to play the way the game was meant to be played, online. I did, however, get a chance to prove myself against and AI and see just exactly how I stacked up to the competition.
