FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster Switch NSP Free Download Romslab So far, the vast majority of the visual upgrades and the new quality of life features make the Pixel Remaster for Final Fantasy VI a strong candidate for being the best way to experience one of Square Enix’s most compelling RPGs. I almost neglected to mention that a bestiary, music player, and gallery are all accessible from the main menu, rounding out the package quite nicely. I’m eager to see how summoned Espers look in all their glory, in addition to the always sublime Opera House scene. We’ll have individual reviews for each Pixel Remaster title on nintendoworldreport.com in the coming weeks, so keep checking the website for our full thoughts. ROMSLAB.COM Best Switch Games

"FINAL FANTASY Pixel Remaster" is a collection of the first six games in the "FINAL FANTASY" series, remastered with updated graphics and sound, and released in 2021. Here are some of its key features:
- Classic gameplay: The "Pixel Remaster" games feature the classic gameplay of the original "FINAL FANTASY" titles, including turn-based combat and a focus on exploration and story.
- Updated graphics: The games have been given a fresh coat of pixel art, with improved character and enemy designs, backgrounds, and battle animations.
- Remastered sound: The games' soundtracks have been remastered, with new arrangements of classic songs and improved sound effects.
- Quality of life improvements: The games feature modern quality of life improvements, such as autosaving, an in-game bestiary, and an improved user interface.
- Bonus content: The games include bonus content, such as a bestiary, artwork, and a music player that lets players listen to the game's soundtrack.
In addition to the remastered versions, the collection also includes the original versions of the games, allowing players to experience them in their original form.
Still, these console releases have implemented accessibility features to simplify each title. To elaborate, players can increase the rate at which they earn experience and Gil, as well as the option to turn off encounters entirely. These toggles can be switched on and off on the fly in any of the games, so you can tailor your playthroughs to your heart’s content. The upgrades of the Pixel Remaster series aren’t limited to the cosmetic, though. Opening up the Configuration tab of the main in-game menu reveals a Brightness setting, a Graphic Display option to add scanlines, the aforementioned Font Style options. TAITO MILESTONES Switch NSP

A choice between the arranged soundtrack and the original, and perhaps most importantly, a Boost section to toggle encounters on and off and multiply experience, gil, and magic AP by up to four times. Auto-dashing and encounters can even be toggled outside of the menu by clicking the left or right stick in. These quality of life additions certainly make it feel like the Pixel Remaster version represents an excellent, contemporary option for those wanting to relive classic Final Fantasy experiences or dive into them for the first time. For all the good it does, there are some aspects of this re-release that leave me wanting.
The games are available on multiple platforms, including PC, mobile, and Nintendo Switch, with cross-platform save support.
In menus and during combat, certain text fields can be hard to read given their small size. It would be nice to see an option for larger text or perhaps a few more fonts to choose from. The party member sprites themselves are fine, but it’s hard to see them as a clear upgrade over the original NES and SNES ones. There’s also some odd hitching that happens during screen scrolling, particularly when multiple characters are on screen. If I can nitpick a little bit further, the dissipation of boss sprites when they’re defeated in battle doesn’t quite look right; there’s a jaggedness to their pixels that contrasts with the rest of what you see on screen.

Final Fantasy II even has added options to heighten weapon and magic skill level gain, attributes, and max HP increases. Additionally, the highly requested font fix has been added here, with the maligned font from the Steam and mobile launch dubbed “modern,” while the new font is “classic.” Honestly, when I played the Pixel Remasters on PC, the font didn’t bother me all that much. Alternatively, playing with this new font on console genuinely felt like a massive improvement, so I highly recommend switching to it as soon as you start any of the games. Unlike many modern games, the "Pixel Remaster" collection does not feature any microtransactions or in-game purchases.
As for the difficulty adjustments for experience and Gil, I found these versions far easier than I remember without having to adjust the settings. This could be because of my previous experience with the games, but the normal mode just felt easier than I remember. If this is your first time playing, I think you should stick to the default difficulty; you’ll likely do far better than you expect. Personally, I had the most fun with Final Fantasy I, IV, and V. The first title’s simplicity and experimental world design made trekking through its vague narrative fulfilling. Further, its gameplay freedom still never fails to impress me.

Final Fantasy IV is my favorite of the classic entries, being the first fully-fledged story the series pursued. The character beats, and plot threads manage to resonate with me, as they feel like a massive step up from what came before. And as for Final Fantasy V, its combat rivals JRPGs today. The Job system is so intricate and addictive to experiment with, and the more lighthearted tone of its world and cast provide a much-appreciated change of pace in a series that’s usually somber.
